IN-HOUSE SHOWS
During the last half term holiday the students worked furiously on various different projects. The 3rd years rehearsed their Voice Presentation, directed by CPA’s Voice Tutor, Ms Valery Miller. The 2nd Years auditioned and rehearsed for ‘Alfie’, directed by our improvisation coach, Ms Alison Goldie and the first years were plunged in the deep end and devised, directed and choreographed their own cabaret. I have to say that this is the first year that I haven’t seen sparks flying from the studios! All went well and the students gave great performances in our Jasmine Teh Studio Theatre. These shows were a credit to the student’s hard work. The money raised will go towards essential equipment for the college.
FACULTY NEWS I feel very lucky to have such a fabulous resident faculty. The majority of whom still actively work in the industry. I totally believe that this is so important and the student’s value and respect that they are receiving up to the minute tuition with regard to what exactly is required as a performer in this crazy world of the performing arts. A number of our resident faculty have recently been busy appearing in theatre and TV. productions and below are some of their successes:
Susan Raasay Susan played to outstanding reviews at the Landor Theatre in ‘The World Goes Round’.
Michael Howcroft Michael recently appeared at the Young Vic Theatre in London in ‘The Soldiers Fortune’, starring Ray Fearon.
Lewis Butler Currently performing in ‘Mary Poppins’ at the Prince Edward Theatre.
Gavin James Recently appeared at The Pleasance Theatre in ‘Blondel’.
Flik Swan Filmed an episode for ‘Dr Who’ which will be screened on BBC later this year.
Guy Burgess Appearing in ‘Coriullanus’ with the Royal Shakespeare Company at the resident theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
